More on Praises to fight the war. There is a Law within each believer, it is the law of the Spirit of life and as we rest in the finished work of the cross, the law of the Spirit of life goes to work within us and brings out the victory over the law of sin and of death... Hallelujah! This is a true fact; here we stand with a choice to make. Do we want to take the law of the Spirit of life or do we walk in the law of sin and death. Romans 8:1-4 tells us how to walk in the victory and we fight from the place of that victory. 1. THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. 2. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death. 3. For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice], 4. So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit]. There is a war we fight and it is always at the place of victory. We fight with praise even as 2 Chronicles 20 with Jehoshaphat,, when he heard that there were three armies that were coming against him he feared but then, and set himself [determinedly, as his vital need] to seek the Lord; he proclaimed a fast in all Judah. This is what we must do when everything seems to come against us we must be determined to seek God’s face and to remind him of all the promises that he has spoken to us, it is not a random picking promise, but it is a Rehma word that the Holy Ghost has pierced your heart with. Hallelujah! It is in the power of the sword of the Spirit. Now when Jehoshaphat sought the Lord God, then Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel and he brought forth the word of knowledge of just where the enemies were, and then gave Jehoshaphat the instruction of what to do. Jehoshaphat after listening to what the Spirit of the Lord had spoken, 2 Chronicles 20:20 Jehoshaphat stood and said; Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper. Listen to what the instruction that the Holy Spirit gave to Jehoshaphat in verse 15. He said, Hearken, all Judah, you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. 16 Tomorrow go down to them. Behold, they will come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the ravine before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you. 17 You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. What did Jehoshaphat do, of all things he appointed singers to sing to the Lord? 21 When he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to sing to the Lord and praise Him in their holy [priestly] garments as they went out before the army, saying, Give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever You have to remember it was not just any singer that he appointed, but those whose lives were in right standing with the Lord, they has holy priestly garments on. We must remember that we should always our garments pure, that is our attitudes, and the very words that we speak, not in grumbling and complaining about this one and that one, but standing there in unity with one another. Now listen to what happened and if you and I do according to what was told us, can you imagine what these singers thought when they were told to march before the army and sing, what would you have thought can this really be right? Well let me tell you these singers knew their God and that he was able to do anything that nothing was impossible for our God to do. They were accustomed to being in the presence of the Almighty God. Now listen, Verse 22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir who had come against Judah, and they were [self-] slaughtered; Before they even got to where they were going God put such confusion in the enemy that they began to self-slaughter one another. These singers couldn’t see what was happening but they knew their God and they were strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Wow let us take a lesson from them that we hold in our vessel the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. The army did not have to lift a finger to fight all they did was to march behind the singers, and they got to the place here was these vast armies slaughtered laying all over the area Verse 23 For [suspecting betrayal] the men of Ammon and Moab rose against those of Mount Seir, utterly destroying them. And when they had made an end of the men of Seir, they all helped to destroy one another. 24 And when Judah came to the watchtower of the wilderness, they looked at the multitude, and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none had escaped! 25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take the spoil, they found among them much cattle, goods, garments, and precious things which they took for themselves, more than they could carry away, so much they were three days in gathering the spoil. Wow isn’t it worth it to have the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus working in you? You too can take the spoils away from the enemy. Listen to this one verse in Luke 11:20-22 but if I drive out the demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has [already] come upon you. 21 When the strong man, fully armed, [from his courtyard] guards his own dwelling, his belongings are undisturbed [his property is at peace and is secure]. 22 But when one stronger than he attacks him and conquers him, he robs him of his whole armor on which he had relied and divides up and distributes all his goods as plunder (spoil). Remember again the theme of this is; There is a Law within each believer, it is the law of the Spirit of life and as we rest in the finished work of the cross, the law of the Spirit of life goes to work within us and brings out the victory over the law of sin and of death... The choice is yours, if you walk in the Spirit you’ll reap the things of eternal value, and if you choose to walk in the flesh you’ll reap corruption and destruction. The choice is yours.
