Oh the Depth of the Love of God that the Canaanite woman found in Jesus the Christ the Son of the Living God when she kept following him and then when he ignored her she fell down and started worshipping him in face of all the rejection and she pulled from his very depth of his being the compassionate love that was there all the time. Jesus had her pursue him with such worship even after he called the outsider dogs, she could have been offended but she pursued even greater where the followers of Jesus were being so irritated by her persistent, but she got into the depth of the heart of God and got her daughter’s deliverance.
Are we willing to go the length of that love and go into the depth of that very love that went to Calvary for us and find the compassionate love that is found in the very heart of God for others?
Even as Paul wrote by the Holy Spirit in Eph. 3:18 That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];
Look what the word Depth is. = Intensity, strength, power, vigor, concentration, penetration, deepness, wisdom, seriousness. Can you see why he says that you may be strong and have the power to apprehend and take hold of, with all the saints that experience that great love.
The very next verse says that we may become a body filled full of God, listen to these words. 19. [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto ~ the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
Some think that this is an impossible thing to happen, but he goes on to say that it will not be by your own strength that you will experience this, but it will be by the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells within you and each part of the body does its part in being knit together in love to bring this forth. ~
Listen to what the Holy Spirit says in verse 20. Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]
Now we see that this is possible because of the power that is at work within us, but it is not singular, but it is for the body of Christ because you see that he gives the glory to God in the church.
Verse 21. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen
