As Israel was crying out for their deliverance from the slavery of Pharaoh and Egypt, There had to be a right time for Israel’s deliverance. God in the meantime was preparing a man in the desert to be a deliverer of the children of Israel, and when the cry from the heart reached God’s ears, God had sent a the man he had been preparing to deliver them after 400 years of torment.
Pharaoh would not even pay attention to the Lord God Almighty’s judgments until the tenth plague where the first born of every Egyptian and animal would be killed. Then that what was dear to them was taken they listened to the Prophet of the Lord God Almighty, and let Israel go.
What is the thing that you hold on so dearly that keeps you from the deliverance that God through Jesus Christ has already won for you? The flesh [self-life, the lower life] represents the first born and the flesh hangs on for dear life, so that it will not have to loose anything. Then what seem to be good life does not seem good anymore, you begin to see that it is a bondage that has you trapped. And yet you are crying out to be delivered from the bondage that you are in. But nothing seems to happen to deliver you. Why? Because the Cry has not been from the heart, you fight and fight. Then all of a sudden something happens, and the life that you love so much it doesn’t seem as glorious, and you start to scream out, “I hate this kind of life” and you start to beg God to change you and then, you start to see the delivering hand of the Lord.
But in order to enter into God’s freedom you must go through the Cross, even as Israel had to go through the Red Sea. Hallelujah! Many want their deliverance without the Cross. They try to go around, and they have to fight and then say it is not worth it, and give up. That is why God would not take Israel through man’s land, but took them by the way of the wilderness and then through the Red Sea. Even when they got though the wilderness and came smack dab in front of the Red Sea, and no way back because the enemy is right on there back side, there is a fear that arose from them a Cry of despair came from them, and they started to grumble and complain against God and the Man of God.
It is the same way with Salvation, The Good news is preached and some hear with such enthusiasm and then when they accept the plan of God’s Salvation they land in a place that is impossible to go. And the Spirit of the Lord which is the Deliverer gets them in front of the Cross, and then the fight begins, I wish I had died. This is impossible. But even as Moses said to the Israelites, “the Egyptians that you see you will never see again.” So the Holy Spirit is saying, “The taskmaster that you see, you will never see again.” And it has to be the Holy Spirit of the Living God that opens the way of the Cross for you to go through, even as Lord God Almighty got glory over Pharaoh, so the Holy Spirit gets glory over the flesh.
When the Lord God Almighty opened up the Red Sea with His Mighty Powerful Breath [which represents His Holy Spirit] Israel walked through on dry land. It was an impossible task for man, but what is impossible for man is possible for God’s Holy Spirit. And when the enemy tried to go through the Red Sea, God Blew with His Breath again and destroyed all of Pharaoh and his chariots in that Sea.
Let me just say something here that became so real to me, listen to this Word of God
Exodus 14:21, Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. East Wind to me represents the Spirit of Praise. Hallelujah! It is not a fleshy praise of just with the Lips, but it is the High Praise that comes from the Spirit of the Living God.
Now let us look at how our Lord God Almighty destroyed Pharaoh and all his chariots. Remember the East Wind. So they had to be standing at the east facing the Red Sea. Now from the west side of the Sea Moses stretches forth his hand over the Sea. West side means that you will forget all of your sorrows that you have gone through. You will become doubly fruitful, and you will begin to reign at the right hand of God in Christ Jesus.
Exodus 14:24-28, In the morning watch the Lord through the pillar of fire and the cloud looked down on the host of the Egyptians and discomfited them. And bound their chariot wheels, making them drive heavily; and the Egyptians said; “Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fights for them”. Then the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians and upon their chariots and horsemen. So Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea and the sea returned to its strength and normal flow when the morning appeared and the Egyptians fled into it and the Lord over threw them and shook them off into the Sea.
You see Moses told them, that the Egyptians that you see now, you will never see again, Why, Because God had destroyed the strong man and his host into the midst of the Sea.
It is the same way when the way of the Cross is opened for us through the Divine Wisdom of God. We go through the fiery judgment of the Cross and all the enemy of our souls that was tormenting us will be destroyed by the fiery judgment of the Cross.
Exodus 13:17,18, When Pharaoh let the people go, God led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was nearer, for God said, “Lest the people change their purpose when they see war and return to Egypt,” But God led the people around by the way of the wilderness toward the Red Sea. And the Israelites went up marshaled [in ranks] out of the land of Egypt.
You see The Lord God had to take them through a way that was impossible for man. It had to be by His Power that Israel left Egypt. It is the same with us; it has to be by the Power of God that we are saved. The Cross is the impossible way for man to do by himself. It has to be the Holy Spirit that takes you through. It is the strength of the Lord God Almighty who will but to death the evil nature and then you can enter into the very victory of the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There was a wilderness that the Lord God led his people into, and there is wilderness that we get led into by the Spirit of the Lord God Almighty. You see, when Israel saw how their enemies were destroyed, they could sing the praises of God, and then three days later they forgot all about what God had done for them when they entered into another trial. They were thirsty and when they came upon a pool of water it was bitter. Oh, they forgot the power of remembrance what their Great God had done. And then they complained and grumbled against the authority that God put them under. How many times does it happen when we rejoice and sing the praises of God and talked about His great deliverance and then a new trial comes up and the forgetting of remembrance what was done just a few days before.
Then God opened up Moses eyes to behold a tree. And the tree was cast into the midst of the bitter waters and they were made sweet. It is the same with us when we enter into a bitter trial we can ask the Spirit of the Lord to cast the Cross into the midst of it, and He will cause that bitter experience to become sweet. Hallelujah! Whatever Israel went through it is for our learning. And when we learn by their failures we will enter into the realm of remembrance or recalling the good things that the Lord has done.
